
Tammy Thacker
Varsity Coach Tammmy Thacker is also the Athletic Director at YHS. Her
fist year team in 2002 went 8-0 and won the Central Sequoia League
championships and the 2003 and 2004 teams won Central Section titles and
advanced to the state playoffs. She was an All League middle blocker for the Badgers
and then was one of the first YHS players in any sport to sign a full ride
Division One scholarship. Coach Thacker played at Fresno State for
four years where she earned her teaching credential. She taught
Jr. High at Raymond Elementary school where amoung her many duties
was coaching volleyball. Included in her players there were such varsity stars as
sitter Serene Hanft and former All League players Joy Bonham and
Sharleena Hanft. Coach Thacker is now teaching at YHS. She teamed with
former Coach Michele Chenowith to win the Women's Gold Division Northern Cal
Championship in 1999. She and husband, Joe have three children, Brandon,
Cortney and Dylan.
Tricia Ruiz
Assistant Varsity coach Tricia (Parks) Ruiz is in her second year with the program serving
as Freshman coach last year. Her Freshman team went undefeated in league and was 10-2 overall.
She is a local product having gone to Wasuma in Ahwahnee and then graduating from
Yosemite High. She is currently teaching at Coarsegold School. She was a versatile
athlete in high school playing volleyball, basketball, and softball and was a standout
in each of those sports with her competitive attitude and athletic skills. She continued her
volleyball play in college at Cuesta in San Luis Obispo and then returned to finish her teaching
degree at Fresno State. She is married to Anthony Ruiz who was a football standout at Yosemite
High and they have two children, Allie and AJ. 
Christine Conti
JV/Freshman Coach Christine Conte is a former YHS and Yosemite Volleyball Club player and
attended Bass Lake Elementary and Yosemite High. She has returned to the area with her
husband, Frank Conti, also a YHS product and athlete. She has continued her interest in
volleyball by playing at California State University Chico. She also coaches for the Yosemite volleyball
Club. She has two children, Antonio and Kendall.
